about

I have had a love of photography for as long as I can remember. It is my absolute joy and passion... almost bordering on obsession! I can honestly say that I put my heart and soul into every picture I take.

There is nothing more rewarding than photographing families in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. My goal as your photographer is to truly capture who you are and the amazing connections you have with one another. I'm committed to getting to know you as a family, and hearing what you love most about each other: the funny face your son makes when he's trying not to laugh, the way your daughter twirls her hair, the sweet, peaceful look on your newborn's face when she sleeps. I want to capture those memories for you.

Okay, confession time: in my early twenties, when I was a photo student, I thought I knew it all. I was an urban photographer who focused on cool, edgy street scenes that I would shoot up in LA. On critique nights, there would always be these thirty-something moms in my class showing photo after photo of their kids. I vowed to never let myself become the proud mom with the portfolio full of kid pictures. I was different. I was an artist. A renegade.

Then I had a child. And kids, as they say, change everything. After the birth of my son, I was consumed with trying to capture each and every moment of his fresh life. Someone had to document these special times, right? Things really came full circle when in a recent film class, I WAS that thirty-something mom bringing in pictures of my child on critique nights.

What happened? Had I joined the dark side? No. Having a husband and son of my own made me finally aware of the intense beauty a family possesses. I'm not talking about surface beauty that people see when you smile perfectly at a camera. I mean being able to capture a family as their true selves, the real way they interact with each other. I believe each picture should tell a story: a special moment between husband and wife, a mother caressing her newborn baby, a dad carrying his little girl on his shoulders. I finally got the picture... and so will you.
